Getting back into sketching/painting again slightly.
A post-apocalyptic environment where pockets of civilisation have survived the aftermath, and in some cases are rebuilding/upgrading their immediate surroundings.
I've been inspired by the technique of ~R-A-I-N-A-R-T aka Sebastien Larroude, and in particular his piece 'neo pala' which you will see I've borrowed heavily from.
Sweat stung Melvyn's eyes. From the darkness of the Badlands he examined the brightly-lit buildings with furious intensity. His twisted, stinking, mutated body ached - part exhaustion, part malformation caused by the radioactivity. His jealousy burnt like an A-bomb detonation within his black heart.
They would probably be drinking coffee and smoking big cigars in the new towers.
He pulled back into the shadows as a scout-ship raced fast and low, fore-guns glowing from recent use. Washing away the last dirt from the desert... ------------------------------------ GREAT image, James! Cool process too! 2-3 hours work? Incredible!
Very cool and moody Jay: reminds me of driving past Sheffield just after sunset in the rain, many moons ago now......actually, your description is quite accurate!!
